MIAA A Conference lacrosse update (3/27/2025)
Severn takes first MIAA A lax game of 2025; Calvert Hall and Spalding remain undefeated as they prepare for their league openers on Friday
The 2025 MIAA A Conference lacrosse conference schedule does not get underway in earnest until Friday, but Severn did put an early one in the league win column, on Wednesday, when the Admirals overpowered John Carroll, 22-5.
The Admirals, who are 3-2 overall, have scored 68 goals in five games this year, including 40 in their last two.
Calvert Hall and Archbishop Spalding, the No. 1 and No. 2 teams, respectively, in this week’s High School On SI Top 25 DMV Boys Lacrosse Rankings, each remain undefeated overall.
Spalding is 7-0 and has scored in double digits in every contest, with an average margin of victory of 7.7 goals per game. The Cavaliers kick-off their league schedule on Friday with a huge battle at Boys’ Latin, the No. 7 team in the DMV.
Calvert Hall (5-0), which will be at No. 15 St. Mary’s on Friday night, is coming off a thrilling 12-11 overtime victory, last Friday, over Malvern Prep (PA), which came into that contest as the No. 1 team in the country.
Friday’s other league openers on Friday feature No. 9 Mount St. Joseph (4-1) at No. 8 Loyola Blakefield (5-2) and No. 3 McDonogh (3-3) at No. 4 St. Paul’s (3-1). Severn, which is ranked No. 19 in the DMV, hosts No. 11 St. John’s College (DC).
