Boys' Latin names Grady Gamble to lead its wrestling program
Former Laker Laker mat star has been coaching for 14 years
His name is Gamble, but Boys' Latin is betting that he is a sure thing.
Grady Gamble, a decorated high school wrestler and a 2007 graduate of BL, has been named the Lakers' new head wrestling coach.
A member of the Boys' Latin faculty since 2018, Gamble was a three-time MIAA and state private schools tournament finalist during his high school wrestling career. After graduating from Guilford College in North Carolina he began his coaching career and has worked with wrestlers in the junior leagues, middle school and high school. He was also a key figure in the development of the Edgewood Wrestling Club where he coached numerous state place winners and Junior League state champions.
“Wrestling and Boys’ Latin are in my blood,” Gamble says. “It’s a family legacy that started with my dad and older cousin, passed on to me and my sister, and now continues with my three kids, who are all on the mat.”
Since returning to Boys' Latin, Gamble has spent time coaching middle school football and wrestling and has served as an assistant coach with the Lakers' varsity wrestling team.
