Brian Sansom Named New Athletic Director at Concordia Prep
The veteran college athletics leader and former coach will oversee all Saints athletic programs, coaching development, and student-athlete support
Concordia Preparatory School has announced the appointment of Brian Sansom as its new Athletic Director, effective July 1.
Sansom will lead the Saints Athletic Department, providing oversight for all athletic programs, supporting coaching development, and promoting the success of Concordia’s student-athletes both on and off the field.
Sansom brings an extensive background in collegiate athletics administration and coaching. He most recently served as Vice President for Enrollment and Athletics at Bethany College in West Virginia. He also held prior positions as Director of Athletics and Head Women’s Basketball Coach at Bethany, where he began coaching in 2016.
Under his leadership, the Bison women's basketball team achieved six consecutive Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) Tournament appearances, including a semifinal berth and notched a 15-win season in the 2021-22 season both the first since 2011-12.
Known for his leadership, recruiting acumen, and passion for student development, Sansom has played a key role in enhancing athletic programs and fostering holistic student-athlete success throughout his career. Before his time at Bethany, Sansom also coached at Fairleigh Dickinson University and Montclair State University, building a strong reputation for program development and community engagement.
At Fairleigh Dickinson, Sansom led the Knights to the quarterfinals of the Northeast Conference Tournament. During his time at Montclair State the team went 107-14 over four seasons, including 58-6 in conference play.
Sansom holds a bachelor’s degree in sport management studies from the University of Pittsburgh at Bradford, and a master’s degree in intercollegiate athletic administration from California University of Pennsylvania.
