Brant Hall set to return to Loyola Blakefield
Dons' football legend, as well as former head football head coach and athletic director, will return as the school's A.D.
Loyola Blakefield has announced the return of Dons' football legend Brant Hall, as the school's athletic director, effective in July.
Hall served in the same position at Loyola from 2018 to 2021, before departing for California as his wife, Terra, purued a career opportunity. In recent years he served as Assistant Athletic Director and Leadership Academy Director at St. Bonaventure High School in Ventura, Calfiornia. Hall, however, heard the call to return to the place where he became a football star as a student-athlete and led the Dons' football team as head coach and the school's athletic program as A.D.
"I am incredibly excited and deeply grateful for the opportunity to return to Loyola Blakefield and lead the Athletics Department. This community has always held a special place in my heart, and I am honored to help shape the athletic experience for our Dons,” said Hall. “Our programs will go beyond wins and losses—they will focus on building character, deepening faith, and fostering a sense of purposes. Together, we will pursue excellence on the field while developing young men who lead with integrity, compassion, and a commitment to serving others."
Hall was a three-year starter at quarterback for the Dons in the late 90s and was the Baltimore Sun's All-Metro Player of the Year in 1997. He helped the Dons share a pair of MIAA A Conference championships before moving on to a success college football career at Lehigh University. At Lehigh, he was part of four Patriot League championship teams and became the school's all-time winningest quarterback. He has also been enshrined in the Loyola Blakefield Athletic Hall of Fame.
“We are delighted to welcome Brant Hall back to Loyola Blakefield – a place that has profoundly shaped him both as a student and as a professional,” said Fr. Dennis M. Baker, S.J., President. “Brant’s enduring connection to Loyola as an alumnus, coach, and leader reflects his unwavering love for our community and his deep commitment to our Catholic, Jesuit mission. His dedication to forming young men who excel not just athletically, but also as individuals of integrity, compassion, and service, perfectly embodies the values we hold dear.”
