The 2024 MIAA Volleyball Playoff Bracket is set
Quarterfinal action gets underway on Monday; top-seeded Archbishop Spalding and Mount St. Joseph have earned first round byes
The 2024 MIAA volleyball playoffs get underway on Monday as six teams compete for the league title.
Leading the way for the first time is top-seeded Archbishop Spalding which went 17-1 to earn the top seed and a first round bye. The Cavaliers only loss of the year came to third-seeded Loyola Blakefield, 3-1, in the second to last match of the season.
Mount St. Joseph went 16-2 to earn the second seed and will also have a first round bye, while the win over Spalding helped Loyola emerge from a three-way tie for third place, with Calvert Hall and Gilman, to ge the third seed. The Dons will host sixth-seeded Boys' Latin in one of Monday's quarterfinals and Calvert Hall, the fourth-seed, will host fifth-seeded Gilman.
The semifinals are set for Wednesday. Spalding will host the Calvert Hall-Gilman winner and St. Joe will host the Loyola-Boy's Latin winner. The championship match is for Friday, Nov. 1 at St. Paul's, at 6 p.m.
